Expert Tips for Hosting a Trophy-Worthy Super Bowl Party

Throwing a Super Bowl party this weekend? While the pressure may not be as intense on you as it is on the San Francisco 49-er's Quarterback, you still want to impress your guests and make sure everyone has a good time. To get expert advice about how to host an amazing party, we spoke to our San Francisco Lifestyle Coordinator, Jennifer Lee, who shared tips on everything from what kind of menu to choose to how you should be displaying your dishes.

Make sure you have enough for everyone. When it comes to ordering and preparing for food, beverage and utensils, having an idea of how many guests will attend is key. You’ll always want to order more than you think you'll need as there is nothing worse than going into overtime and leaving your guests hungry and dry for the game.

Try easy bites and finger foods.  Chips, dips, sliders, pizzas and wraps make it easy to eat, enjoy the game, and chat with friends as well as meet new people.

Design is always appreciated. Large white platters and bowls are a favorite for presentation as they complement almost any food item they are holding.

Consider dietary restrictions.  Make sure to have food that speaks to guests who are gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian, as well as drinks that are non-alcoholic.

Don't skimp on utensils. Make sure you have enough napkins and bio-compostable plates to last for the duration of the game.

Pace yourself. One of my secret tips is do not put all the food out at once, but serve different foods at different times. This allows guests to finish what is currently on the table and get excited when a new dish is presented.
