Our Favorite Neighborhood Brunch Spots

Brunch is serious business and when it comes to picking a spot, the options are endless. So – we did the research for you.

We found the best brunches from coast to coast and while there were many delicious options, some stood out above the rest. Here are our favorite brunch spots in each city from San Francisco to New York and everything in between.

San Francisco: Marlowe

Marlowe, Marlowe Restaurant, Plates on marble counter with fresh food

With creative cocktails that are too pretty to drink, it will be hard to stay focused on the menu. Seasonal ingredients keep Marlowe's menu fresh and the stunning, airy ambience keeps guests coming back. Beat the lines and get a seat by the window to give this experience the attention it deserves.

Boston: Bar Boulud

Bar Boulud, Bar Boulud Eggs and Salmon, Eggs and Salmon

In the heart of Boston's Back Bay neighborhood, just down the street from One Back Bay, is the distinguished Bar Boulud. The expansive menu features everything from charcuterie boards to duck confit along with an impressive cocktail list. Although you can't go wrong with any choice, the faroe king salmon tartare is hard to pass up.

Chicago: Jam

Jam, Toast and Jam, Jam with cream on top

Chicago favorite Jam features eclectic art, great views of Logan Square, and of course - homemade jam. Enjoy the comfort food favorites with creative spins like Chocolate Milk Stout Oatmeal and Malted Custard French Toast. Trust us, this is a weekend brunch you'll still be thinking about on Monday.

New York City: The Penrose

The Penrose, The Penrose Brunch, Brunch at the Penrose

No city does brunch quite like NYC. With tons of incredible options the competition is stiff, but our #1 spot can be found on the Upper East Side. Right around the corner from The Strathmore is The Penrose, a neighborhood gem. The diverse menu draws brunchers of all persuasions, but you can't leave without ordering The Benny Burger.

L.A: Gjelina

tomatoes and eggs, toast and eggs

Trendy hotspot Gjelina has captivated Southern Californians with its crispy eggs and soft scrambles. The gorgeous aesthetic will lure you into lingering after your plates have been cleared and the delicious cocktail list makes that a hard offer to turn down. Try their grilled radicchio and crispy bacon pizza.

Washington D.C: Hazel

Hazel, Washington DC Hazel, Tuna Fish Sandwich

D.C.'s crown [brunch] jewel can be found in the Westminster neighborhood. Hazel doesn't subscribe to the ideology that long menus mean good restaurants. They do fewer things... really, really well. Although the creative menu includes kimchi eggs and smoked blue catfish dip, our favorite item is Grandma's Zucchini bread. It's anything but simple.
